FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
1. What is DHA and how does it work? DHA (dyhydroxyacetone)is a compound derived from vegetables (beets or sugar cane). It causes a simple sugar-amino acid interaction that colours the skin. Your skin begins to darken after 3-4 hours, reaching its peak within 12 hours.
2. How long should I wait before showering after tanning? We recommend waiting 6-8 hours before taking part in physical activity or showering. Showering sooner may reduce tan intensity or effect colour evenness.
3. How often do I need to visit Pro-B? The colour lasts 3-4 weeks if you use Pro-B "Extender Cream" every second or third day after spraying. But you can visit once every 7-10 days if you prefer.
4. Can I tan twice in a row? Not recommended.
5. Will my skin smell after the tanning session? Some people experience a slight smell a few hours after tanning, but showering neutralises this.
6. Will it damage hands or cuticles? The barrier cream applied before tanning will protect your hands and cuticles. And you will also do the same to your feet.
7. Will the solution stain my clothes? It can mark silk and rubber underwear straps. However, it will wash out of most materials on just a cool wash, but it is recommended you wear loose darker clothes on the day of your tan session. Necklines on T-shirts can have a little colour in the same way as make-up.
8. Will Pro-B make my skin sticky? No, because after tanning you will apply the Pro-B Activator cream which prevents stickiness and moisturises the skin making it soft and silky.
9. Is Pro-B safe? Yes. The tanning solution has been tested and the main ingredient DHA (dihydroxyacetone) is FDA approved and is non-carcinogenic. Testing has further shown that DHA is less toxic than aspirin, caffeine and even common table salt.
10. Does sunless tanning damage the skin and cause premature wrinkling like solariums? No.. Sunless tanning has none of these risks.
11. What if it gets into my eyes? We have not had any issues related to eye irritation but we recommend you close your eyes during the spraying process. Also note sunless tanning has no risk of ocular cancer as with UV tanning.
12. Is it ok to use sunless tanning for Allergy Sufferers? If you are in this situation we highly recommend consulting with your physician before using any sunless tanning products.
13. Can I tan in a UV tanning solarium on the same day? Yes. There is nothing in our tanning solution preventing you from tanning in a UV solarium or in the sun but it is best done before Pro-B. Note; UV solariums can cause skin cancer and damage the skin.
14. Do I need to cover my hair whilst tanning? You may wear a disposable shower cap provided (except for gentlemen who have less hair) but the liquid does not colour or damage the hair.
15. What should I wear inside the cabin? Usually people wear nothing, but dark swimwear can be used to create a “bikini line”.
16. Can I swim after Pro-B tanning? Swimming isn’t recommended for the first 12 hours as chlorinated water can bleach your tan and possibly cause streaking.
17. Do I need to use sunscreen after Pro-B tanning? Yes, yes, yes... Pro-B offers no protection against UV damage.
18. Do I need to peel (exfoliate) before tanning? Yes, plus you must remove all make-up, and face creams.
